The Medieval Castle of Limassol is located in the Old Town center. It was founded by Guy of Lusignan in the 12^th century and the first mention of the castle was made in the 13^th century. The Limassol Castle has been reconstructed many times. Today’s version of it is a result of the changes made in the 19^th century during the Ottoman rule and is a kind of kaleidoscope of various architectural styles and objects from different time periods. Visitors can explore the castle’s permanent exhibition about Cyprus’ cultural and historical emergence.
