CVAR – is a contemporary museum in the old town center of Nicosia, which houses a collection of art works on the history of Cyprus. Among its showpieces are paintings by Cypriot and foreign artists, photographs, etchings, antique costumes and artifacts (personal items, interior design items).

The museum also has a working library that houses a collection of manuscripts, prints, books and magazines on the history of Cyprus, as well as a collection of video archives covering various time periods of the island’s history.

The museum’s mission is to bring together Cyprus’ cultural heritage. The curators not only stage art exhibitions, but also organize cultural discussion forums and seminars. Guests of the museum are invited to visit the Balthazar Café & Restaurant, which boasts access to the rooftop of the building with a summer garden. You can visit the restaurant following your time at the museum or enjoy it on a separate occasion. The menu features late breakfast options, lunch, dinner as well as desserts. The bar serves alcoholic beverages.

Parking is available for museum visitors. Entrance is free for children and students. You can call the museum to schedule a guided group tour. The museum also has a souvenir shop.
